Caledonia Argus 11 Jan, 1907

Nicholas Bouquet, and old pioneer of this township, and a Civil War veteran, died Sunday morning at 10 o'clock at his home five miles west of the city. Mr. Bouquet was born at Neidrschen, Germany, April 17, 1832, and came to this country April 25, 1855, locating at Dubuque, Iowa. He made his home in that city two years, moving to this county in 1858 and settling on a farm which he has owned and resided on since. He enlisted in the Northern army May 26, 1864, receiving and served over a year. In 1866 he was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Weiltgen. He is survived by nine children, viz,: Nick, Spooner, Wis., Mrs. Jos. Thill and Anna, Dubuque, Iowa, Susan, John, Philip, George and Mary of Caledonia, and Mike of Chicago.

The funeral was held from St. Peter's Catholic church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock and was largely attended.
