Bobby was the 4th child of James Robert "Pooley" Poole & Brenda Joyce Childers Poole. He was our only son and our Baby Boy.

He graduated from South Jones High school, rode bulls and then went into the Marine Corps.

He was all Red-Blooded American Boy !

Bobby enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps July 23,1996 and was looking forward to July 23rd, 2000 when he would be released from the Corps. He had already signed up for College classes for night schooling in Ft. Worth because he wanted to become a Algebra Teacher and a Football Coach.

While undergoing recruit training in San Diego, California, Bobby was selected "Honorman" for Platoon 2014 and was Meritoriously promoted from Private to Private First Class. He received a Certificate of Commendation from The Commanding Officer, Col. G.J.Lyons. He also received The Leatherneck Award. He earned his only Stripe for Recruiter Assistance and was then promoted to Lance Corporal, Meritoriously, February 2,1997.

He also received his promotion to Corporal, Meritoriously.

After he finished his training of 2 years, he was a Aircraft Mechanic on a KC-130 plane. If his unit had been called out, his job was to re-fuel Jets in the air. On the ground, he was an aircraft mechanic, and was the one who had to have the planes ready to take off on flights.

His last duty station was Carswell Air force Base in Fort Worth, Texas. If he had lived, his promotion to Sgt. would have come up in a couple more weeks.

Bobby had a flight to Pensicola, FL. ~ Friday, Oct. 2,1998. On Saturday, Oct. 3rd, he drove home to Ellisville, Jones, Mississippi for a long week-end. It was a 9 1/2 hour drive and he got here about 7:00 PM.
The first thing he did was to ask me, "His Momma", to ride with him on his favorite country loop, "Ovett Loop", so he could play his new CD for me and also he wanted to smell the dew on the pine trees. "He was so country." The CD was Tim McGraw and the song was "Where The Green Grass Grows". We used his new CD to play at his funeral at Jamie Walley's request. That song was Bobby to the tee.

After he brought me home, he went out to see his friends. He was trying to get home Sunday Morning to go hunting with his Dad when he had his accident. He was killed at 5:55 am Sunday Morning, October 4, 1998 on Three-Mile Stretch Rd., in fact, two driveways down from where he was born.

On Tuesday, October 6,1998, his Funeral Services were conducted at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville and he was buried with a Full Military Ceremony at his Grave site at Ellisville City Cemetery, Ellisville, Jones, Mississippi.

Since his death, we received the " Flag OF Honor" from Recruit Station in New Orleans. This Flag was flown over The Marine Corps War Memorial in Washington, D.C. on January 30,1998 in honor of Recruiting Station, New Orleans.

His Pallbearers were: Jason "Cowboy" Ellzey, Tad Walters, Kevin "Shag" Hollingsworth, Chris Purvis, Tommy James, Jamie Walley, Klay Allday, Corey Kyzar.
Honorary Pallbearers: Frank Autry, Josh Endom, Scott Suggs, Todd Ryals, Mark Purvis, Gunty SGT. Michael O. Brown, Chris Walters, Richard Bates, Cpl. Ben Boutte, Doug Lott, Cpl. Billy Nations, Bryan Brewer, Cpl. Jeff Nations, Brad Brewer, Chad Christian, Ronald Eason, Jason McGill.

Bobby was only 21 years, 1 month, 16 days when he passed.
