William Lester Rowland
was born in the country near Leonard, Texas 04 June 1918, the son of Ebb Austin Rowland and Mima Jane Jackson *Rowland.
He passed away 04 March 2003 in Plano, Collin Co, Texas. He grew up on a farm near Wolfe City, Texas. He went to Wolfe City High School.
He joined the U.S. Marines 06 December 1941, the day before the attack on Pearl Harbor. He took his training in San Diego, California. While on leave he returned to Wolfe City.
On 22 September 1942, he married Willdene Henslee. In three days his leave was cancelled and he was sent to New Caledonia. After getting out of the Marine Corps, he worked nearly fifty years as a machinest.

1. Michael Lester Rowland
2. Malcolm Stewart Rowland
3. Morris Randall Rowland.
One Grandson, Dustin Alan Rowland.
W.L. was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church. He and Willdene joined the Texas Reelers Square Dance Club in 1978.
Services were held 2:00 p.m., Friday, 07 March 2003 at Restand Memorial Chapel. Interment followed in the Restland Memorial Park. Family received friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Restland Funeral Home.
