AVIS---Collins Eldon Edwards, 55 of 313 1/2 Grove Street, Avis, was stricken with a fatal heart attack while working at the Woolrich Woolen Mills at 11:15 p.m. Monday and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Jersey Shore Hospital.
Mr. Edwards was stricken while at his work in the finishing department of the woolen mills. P. Robert Moriarty, of Lock Haven, acting as deputy for Clinton County Coroner Dean K. Wetzler Jr., of Mill Hall, certified the death as due to an acute coronary occlusion.
Mr. Edwards was born in Lycoming County, March 21, 1919, a son of Emerson and Jennie Fritz Edwards. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Wimmer Edwards; two sons: Earl and Alan, both at home; two sisters: Mrs. Dorothy Henry, Montoursville RD; and Mrs. Myrtle Pepperman, Williamsport; a brother: Lee Edwards, Jersey Shore RD 1; four half-sisters: Mrs. Ethel Allen, Trout Run; Mrs. Helen Pauhamus, Salladasburg; Mrs. Shirley Whipple, New Mexico; and Mrs. Donna Allen, Linden; three half-brothers: James Edwards, Trout Run; Ernest Edwards, Cheektowaga, New York; and Charles Edwards, Salladasburg.
