Gordon L. Langford, 79, of Loveland died at his home July 9, 2008, with his family by his side. Gordon was born June 24, 1929, in Murray, Utah, to George W. and Elda E. (North) Langford.

Gordon graduated from Sandpoint High School in Sandpoint, Idaho. He received his Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, his Master's from Utah State in Logan, Utah, and his Ph.D. from Montana State in Bozeman, Montana. He was a college professor at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California, and Southern Illinois University. He retired as a financial consultant for A.G. Edwards.

Gordon served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. He served a mission for the L.D.S. Church in the New England States from 1955 to 1957. He loved traveling, fishing, reading and gardening.

Gordon married Frances Barney on December 19, 1963, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They lived in Longmont, Colorado, for 18 years before moving to Loveland nine and one-half years ago.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Frances Langford of Loveland, Colorado; sons: Sherman D. Langford (Gretchen) of Aurora, Colorado, Allyn L. Langford (Sabrina) of Gilbert, Arizona, Brian H. Langford (Jenny) of Midland, Texas; daughters: Terilyn Langford of Westminster, Colorado, Sherilyn Sundberg (Christopher) of Loveland, Colorado, Kristilyn Brady (Keith) of Green River, Utah; brother Sherman Langford of Springville, Utah; sisters: Althea Bailey of St. George, Utah, Lura Mitchell of Sandpoint, Idaho, Merle Fowles of Washington, Utah; and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (on Boyd Lake Road). Burial Foothills Garden of Memory, Longmont, Colorado. Viewing one hour prior to the service at the church.
