Mr. Ackerman was born March 2 1926 in Williamsburg County a son of the late Eddie Beaufort Ackerman Lizzie Hallen Cannon Ackerman. He was a World War II Navy Veteran.
Surviving are his widow Lillie Ackerman of Georgetown; one son Roger Dale Ackerman of Georgetown; two daughters Patricia Wilson and Neta Wilson both of Georgetown; two brothers Otis Ackerman of Adams Run and Horace Ackerman of Andrews;three sisters Betty Mae Elliott and Edith Wilson, both of Georgetown and Myrtle Ruth Walker of Andrews;and a number of nieces and nephews.
