Veteran of World War I Dies In Long Hospital
Jesse Hubble, age 50, a veteran of World War I, died in the Long hospital, Indianapolis, Saturday, following a long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Maplewood Christian church and burial was in the Lizton K. of P. cemetery.
Mr. Hubble received nation-wide publicity following the first draft lottery when it was learned that his son, who has the same first name of his father, also had received the same order number for military service as the registration number of his father in the first World war. The number is 1430. Although young Hubble's number has been called, he received deferment on account of his father's health.
Mr. Hubble was born northwest of North Salem and for a number of years lived in Montgomery county. The family moved to Maplewood about eight years ago. Surviving are the widow and six children.
