Byrdie married her first husband, Albert Jenkins, on April 27, 1920, in Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas. This is her only marriage resulting in children. After Albert's death in 1939, Byrdie later married Alvin Irel Cameron on May 26, 1944, in Austin, Texas. Alvin and Byrdie are buried side-by-side in the Masonic Cemetery, Austin, Texas.

Bydie was very clear about the spelling of her name. She would quickly tell you that her father always told her that her name was spelled: "Byrdie, not like a bird in a tree." Of course family researchers will confirm that her name was rarely spelled correctly in records.
