Julian A. "Bud" Whipple Sr., 81, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman E. and Josie Atkinson Whipple; one brother, Herman Elmore Whipple. He served in the U.S. Navy 143 Seabee's in the Pacific during World War II. He was retired from Whipple's Backhoe Service. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth "Libbie" Whipple; one son, Julian "Buddy" Whipple and wife, Joan; two grandchildren, Ben and Stacy Whipple; and two great grandchildren Ethan and Katheryn Whipple. Family received friends Tuesday July 24, 2007 at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd. Funeral services were also held there Wednesday July 25, 2007. Graveside services were held in Hanover Memorial Park.
