Blacksburg - James (Check) Oliver, 81, died in a Christiansburg nursing home Friday night. Son of Elizabeth and Linkons Oliver.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Victoria Clark, Salem; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Percy Alls, Mrs. Kirk Perdue and Mrs. Bernard Brown all of Blacksburg; four stepsons, Willie Dove, Leslie Dove, John Dove, all of Blacksburg, and Walter Dove, Princeton, W. Va.; two half brothers, Marshall McMahan and Whitey McMahan, both of Blacksburg.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Jones Funeral Home with burial in Westview Cemetery.
