Billie Louise Breiden, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away due to a lingering illness on Saturday evening, Sept. 12, 2009, at Mercy Siena Nursing Home in Dayton, Ohio, where she was a resident for the past year and a half.

She was born May 15, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio, to William and Agnes (True) Weikel. She was married first to Merrill F. Steinberger, then a second marriage to William K. Breiden Sr. and they just celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on Sept. 2. Billie formerly worked as a waitress at the Pine Club in Dayton. She used to roller skate, rode her own BSA 250 motorcycle, had horses, cats and dogs and loved living in the country. Most of all, she loved her family.

Billie is survived by her husband, William K. Breiden Sr.; one sister, Phyllis (Fred) Kuck; two daughters, Virginia (Richard) Hackworth of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Sherry Steinberger Osborne of Dayton; one son, Steven Merrill Steinberger (Cynthia) of Lewisburg, Ohio; three stepsons, William Keith Breiden Jr. (Carol) of Tucson, Ariz., Kenneth Jack Breiden (Marty) of Naples, Fla., Bruce Breiden (Jan) of Davie, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 18, from 10-11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439. The service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton.

Donations may be made in Billie's memory to Hospice of Dayton, or to SICSA (Society for the Improvement of Conditions for Stray Animals).
