Melford Anderson Dies Here Monday

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Trinity Lutheran church here for Melford Anderson, 71, of 119 Hatten av. who died at a local hospital Monday. Rev. Gerald Christensen will officiate and burial will be in Nora cemetery. Friends may call at the Mason Funeral chapel this evening, Wednesday and at the church an hour prior to services. Mr. Anderson was born Nov. 23, 1898 at Rice Lake and farmed here many years before retiring in 1950.

He is survived by his wife, the former Selina Labrie; two sons, Urban of Winton, Calif. and Ray of Rice Lake; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Cook of Menomonie, Mrs. Vera Larson of Cumberland and Mrs. Elaine Stary of St. Paul; 22 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Paul Schleiss and Mrs. Warner Corbett of Wauwatosa and Mrs. Carl Bogstad of Rice Lake and by three brothers, Fritz, Edwin and Clarence, all of Rice Lake.
