William Harold Lowery was born March 10, 1940, in Charlie, Texas, to Harrison and Virginia Lowery. He passed from this life on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2009, at Jefferson County Hospital at the age of 69.
William was a Baptist.
He was self-employed and enjoyed wood cutting.
He and Rosie Rodgers were married Feb. 8, 1959, in Charlie, Texas.
William is survived by his wife Rosie Lowery, of the home; mother, Virginia Brumbelow, of Byers, Texas; children, Patricia Kelley, of Waurika, Peggy Roberts, of Henrietta, Texas, Janice Lowery, of Wichita Falls, Texas, David Lowery, of Byers, Texas, and Shirley Stoneking of Byers, Texas; sisters, Pansy Chumley, of Byers, Texas, Joyce Burch, of Plano, Texas, Helen Bargger, of Henrietta, Texas, Sue Wilson, of Byers, Texas, Linda Loucks, of Petrolia, Texas; brothers, Bobby Lowery, of Henrietta, Texas, and Richard Lowery, of Byers, Texas; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, son, William Jr. in September 2004, and sister Billie.
Funeral service will be Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Byers Assembly of God with Bro. James Keenum officiating. Burial will be in the Byers Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 to 6 p.m. today.
