ATHENS -- Funeral for Mellie Mavene Reyer Broadway, 76, of Elkmont will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Samuel A. Mitchell, Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church 45 minutes before the service.
Mrs. Broadway died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at her home. She was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Decatur. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was the mother of the late Richard Carter Broadway.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Carter Broadway; one son, Philip Edward Broadway of Athens; one daughter, Marsha Denise Broadway of Orem, Utah; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
