PEORIA, IL - Gerald D. Brocksmith, 67, of Peoria, died at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2006 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born on November 16, 1939 in Quincy, IL to Otis E. and Vera Marguerite Hartwig Brocksmith. He married Arlene L. Peter on May 14, 1960 in Quincy, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Karen Massey of Peoria and Mary Brocksmith of West Peoria; four sons, Joe (Cathy) Brocksmith of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Tony (Elaine Edwards) Brocksmith of Peoria, Mike (Traci) Brocksmith of Honolulu, Hawaii and Ross (Shelli) Brocksmith of Peoria; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, his identical twin, Derald (Paula) Brocksmith of Peoria Heights and Jack (Mary) Brocksmith of Cedar City, Utah; and three sisters, Darlene (Mark) Marcks of Quincy, Cathy (Dewayne) Smart of Quincy and Vicky (Mike) Haistings of Mendon, IL; He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roy Brocksmith.

He retired in 2001 from Auto Owners Ins. Co. as branch manager and was manager at the Fox Theatre.

He was a peacetime Army veteran.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, past President of Holy Family Men's Club and former school board member. He also was a member of Quincy Knights of Columbus Third Degree.

A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Holy Family Church with Franciscan Friars officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with a Scripture Service at 6:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the mass at church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
