A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, he was retired from Roane Hosiery with 38 years of service.
A faithful member of Emory Heights Baptist Church, Harriman, he was a caring and loving son and brother.
He was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Ida Turpin Ladd; brothers, Kenneth Ladd, Bobby Ladd and Doug Ladd; and five infant brothers and sisters.
Survivors include special friend for more than 54 years, Lela Day of Kingston; sisters, Martha Lawson and Barbara Thomas, both of Harriman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jackie and Betty Ladd of Crossville, Randel and Brenda Ladd of Harriman and Fay and Sue Ladd of Kingston; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 22, in Kyker Funeral Home, Harriman.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, in Emory Heights Baptist Church, with Eddie Neely and Wayne Nelson officiating.
Graveside service, with honors by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard, and burial will be at Emory Heights Cemetery.
