Bessie Clark, Age 94 of Greenup passed away at 4:45 A.M. on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the Cumberland Nursing Center.
Bessie was born January 29, 1912 in Montrose, Illinois a daughter of Wesley and Mary Alice (Jackson) Kingery. She married John "Ted" Gray in 1927, he passed away in 1970. She later married Hugh Clark in 1975; he preceded her in death in 1988.
Bessie retired from the Ettelbrick Shoe Factory in Greenup.
She is survived by her loving family; son, Charles M. (special friend, Rosemary Liggett) Gray of Greenup; daughter, Mary Lou (husband, Richard) Haney of Mattoon; step-sons, Don (wife, Ellen) Clark of Jewett, Max (wife, Betty) Clark of Beecher City, and Charles (wife, Clara Jo) Clark of Greenup; step-daughter, Maxine (husband, Jerry) Holsapple of Greenup; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 34 step-great grandchildren; and 5 step-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Jon Tom (wife, Joan) Gray; daughters, Wanda (husband, Joe) Dirks and Lavona (husband, John) Gilbert; daughter-in-law, Olive (Cox) Gray; great-granddaughter, Melissa Clayton and step-daughter, Vera (husband, Glenn) Kibler.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup with Pastor Irvin Figgins officiating. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 at the funeral home.
In loving memory of Bessie memorials may be made to the Cumberland Nursing Center or to Lincolnland Hospice.
