PORTER -- Terry D., was born in Great Bend, KS, on March 23, 1961, to Loren Baker and Mae Katherine Porter. He was one of eight children. He attended Sam Houston, Charles S. Johnson, and McLain High School. In 1979, he graduated in Riverside, CA. He received Christ at The Diversity Christian Fellowship Church, under the leadership of Pastor Chuck Breckenridge. He was employed with Denny's Corporation and Forest Hills for many years. Terry's hobbies include traveling, family gatherings, his grandchildren and most of all cooking. He was best known for his sweet potato pies. At family gatherings, Terry was the energy that created the ambiance for all that were present. Everyone that met Terry, felt an instant kinship and family was most important to him. He was a man that never complained. He touched everyone with his words of wisdom, warm smile, and big heart. He had open arms for everyone in time of distress. Terry had a gift of uplifting people's spirits when they were down and cheering them up when they were sad. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, and 1 granddaughter. He leaves to cherish his memories, 3 daughters, Keyara (Derrick) Britt, Keyona and Kymisha Porter (Tulsa, OK); 1 son, KeAndre Porter (Tulsa). He also leaves 5 brothers, Loren Porter (Dallas, TX), Richard Porter, Sr. (O'Fallon, IL), Larry (Katherine) Porter, Virgil Porter (Tulsa), and Curtis (Shanita) Porter (Kansas City, MO); 1 sister, Maxine Porter (Tulsa); 6 grandchildren, DeAndre, Kaylah, DeJuan, Karmya Britt, Kintrell and Kyin Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2006, at Moore's Eastlawn Chapel, 1908 S. Memorial, Tulsa, OK, with interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery.
