Cynthia was my great grandmother. She was engaged to marry Lee Norris McConnell
but he died before the wedding could take place. She married his brother, Herman, after Norris' death. She is pictured with each man.

Mrs. McConnell, 79, dies Feb. 26

Central City - Mrs. Cynthia Della McConnell, 79, died in Muhlenberg Community Hospital Wednesday, Feb 26 at 7 a.m.

Born in Logan County May 24, 1895, she was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Central City.

Surviving are three sons, Paul McConnell of Raton, New Mexico, Bruce McConnell of Evansville, IN, and J. D. McConnell of Temple, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Grace Hayes of Hammond, IN and Mrs. Velma Alexander of Central City; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; brother Walter Jessup of Russellville.

Services for Mrs. McConnell were at 3 p.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Gary Damron officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
