The picture above of my grandmother was taken at her place of employment. She worked at a grocery store in Central City, the Apple House. I believe I remember her bosses name was Mr. Deason who owned the business.

Velma Alexander
Central City - Mrs. Velma Arlane Alexander, 65, of Route 2, Central City, died Wednesday, June 10, 1987 at 5:15 a.m. at her residence.
Mrs. Alexander was born in Muhlenberg County November 5, 1921.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin Alexander of Central City; two daughters, Jean White of Decatur, Alabama and Sue Campbell of Central City; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul McConnell of New Mexico and J. D. McConnell of Central City; one sister, Grace Hayes of Hammond, Indiana.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 12 at 3:00 p.m. at the Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. T. H. Davis officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
