Arnold Webster Wittstruck, 72, Grand Rapids, died Sunday, November 22, 1998, at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids. He was born April 13, 1926, in Grand Rapids, and moved to Wabana Township where he grew up and attended schools.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Audrey J. Mohler April 12, 1947, in Grand Rapids, where they made their home. He worked several years at the Tioga Mine and the West Hill Mine. He then worked many years for the Hawkinson Construction Company in Grand Rapids. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey; three daughters, Frances Wadlow of Middlebrook, Missouri, and Marlene Weiker and Carol Bruce, both of Foreston; five sons, Arnold Jr. "Butch" of Bock, Douglas of Verndale, and Daniel, David, and Kevin, all of Grand Rapids; one sister, Shirley Ratzlaff of Minneapolis; two brothers, Dennis of Grand Rapids, and Faye of Marble; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held November 25, 1998, at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, with The Rev. Charles Nelson officiating. Burial was at Itasca Calvary Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements were by Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.
