Born in Osceola, Ark., he was the son of the late James Arthur and Dora Kent Walker. Mr. Walker retired from the U.S. Navy in 1960 with 20 years of service. He then worked for Firestone until 1970, and retired from Central State Hospital in 1982.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Irene P. Walker; children, James "Skip" Walker and wife, Donna, Chris Smith and husband, Carl, Joan W. Lang and companion, Dorian Iwan, Linda Ford and husband, Gordon, and Martin Walker and wife, Michelle; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Frank Piotrowski; two brothers and a sister, Harold Walker and wife, Helen, Jack Walker and wife, Betty Jane, and Virginia Harmon and husband, John; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
