Alfred "Toby" Adamitis entered the US ARMY on 13 Mar 1967 and went to Army Flight School, graduating as a Warrant Officer pilot. He was deployed to Vietnam, where he served with the Rattlers & Firebirds in 1968 - 1969. He primarily flew Firebirds, specifically Charlie Model Gunships, one of the most dangerous jobs for Army Aviators during the war. He returned to the USA after his tour of duty and was Honorably Discharged as a CW2 on 1 Jan 1971.
