Mrs. Morris was born December 18, 1915, in Clinch County, to the late James Daniel Corbitt and Fannie Bell Steedley Corbitt. She was employed by BWay Corp. for 20 years, where she worked as a Machine Operator. She was a member of the Homerville United Methodist Church, and the Georgia Hargraves Circle. Mrs. Morris is preceded in death by her husband, Redmond Manley Morris; a son, Leon Morris; two sisters, Wilma Steedley and Martha Jane Flemming; six brothers, Randall Corbitt, Milton Corbitt, Horace Corbitt, Talmadge Corbitt, David Corbitt, and L.E. Corbitt.
Survivors are a daughter, Annette Mayes of Homerville; a son and daughter-in-law, Willard and Connie Morris of Homerville; a sister and brother-in-law, Era Belle and Harold Tiner of Homerville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Mary Corbitt of Homerville, Bruce and Wilma Corbitt of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, Wayne Mayes, James Mayes, Keith Morris, Kim Fitzgerald, Sonny Morris, and Michelle Kidd; several great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Services for Mrs. Morris were held Thursday, August 13, 2009, at two o'clock, at the Homerville United Methodist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Talmadge Guess and Rev. James Davis.
Internment was in the Arabia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wayne Mayes, James Mayes, Sonny Morris, Keith Morris, Larry Tiner, Johnny Corbitt, Jerry Corbitt and Gerald Tiner.
Brad Register sang "I'll Fly Away" and "On the Far Side of Jordan".
