George passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 8, at his home in Dixon where he had lived happily with his wife Maggie since 1972.
The youngest of nine children, George was born March 8, 1931 in Guayaquil, Ecuador S.A., George immigrated to the United States in 1954 and immediately joined the United States Air Force. George married his wife of 51 1/2 years, Margarite Peralta of Winters, California, in 1957, and they traveled the world for his next 21 years in the US Air Force. After his retirement from the Air Force, George became a Health Inspector for Solano County for the next 18 years. He retired from his public service job in 1996 and started his own business, "Geo Water Sampling."
George will always be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a wonderful friend, and a true lover of the S.F. '49ers and billiards. He enjoyed life to its fullest, and was loved by all his family and all that came to know him.
He was deeply loved by his four children, six grandchildren, and great-grandchild; sons George Kittyle Jr. and daughter-in-law Wendy of Corvallis, Oregon, Michael Kittyle of Surfside, California, and Robert Kittyle of Mount Dora, Florida, and daughter Patricia Nelson of Minden, Nevada; grandchildren Jennifer and Matthew Kittyle of Vacaville, California, and David, Wade, and Christina Nelson of Minden, Nevada, and Tiffany Kittyle of Corvallis, Oregon; and a great-grandchild, Caden Kittyle of Vacaville.
George also leaves behind his beloved brothers and sisters: Flavio, Heraldo, Odalia, and Griselda of Guayaquil, Ecuador S.A., and Lucinda of Homestead, Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation services were held at the Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon, Calif., on Thursday, February 19, 2009. Memorial services were held on Friday, February 20, 2009, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Dixon, California. In recognition of his honorable military service, he was laid to rest in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery near Dixon.
