Randy was the son of H. Earl Beck and Myrna Jean Hutchins Beck. He and his twin sister were born in Marin, California in 1955, but grew up in Emmett, Idaho. His parents divorced, but his mother continued to make their home in Emmett. His mother later remarried, and Randy had a close relationship with his stepfather, Orbin Roberts.
Randy spent much of his life in the Boise, Idaho area, working for the Federal Government, and enjoying time with family and friends. He left this life much too soon.
