Mrs J.D. (Sallie) Wood 83 of Winder passed away in a private hospital on April 11 following an extended illness She was born in Jackson County Ga. on October 3, 1881 a daughter of the late John Carlyle and Martha Bowls and was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs Wood were held on Tuesday afternoon April 13 at 2:30 o'clock at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church with the pastor Rev. Kenneth Brewer and Rev. J.O. McNeal officiating. The remains lay in state from 2 o'clock until the funeral hour.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Kelley Funeral Home of Winder in charge of arrangements
Mrs Wood is survived by a son,Hubert Wood Winder trhee sisters Mrs H.E. Blakey Winder; Mrs Willie Boyd Statham and Mrs E.D.House Tucker one grandchild and two great grandchildren
