Mildred T. Berrier, 81, of Mt. Carmel Church Road, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem after a one-month illness.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Welcome, where she was a member, by the Rev. Barry Surratt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Berrier was born April 24, 1924, in Wilkes County to Joseph Andrew Reavis and Nora Estep Reavis. She was retired from R.J. Reynolds with 33 years of service. Her husband, Dalton M. Berrier, preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, John A. Turner and his wife, Janet, of Winston-Salem and Joe D. Turner and his wife, Ethel, and Ray M. Berrier and his wife, Peggy, all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Jennifer Janus, Justin Turner, Joe D. Turner Jr., Chad Turner and Daniel R. Berrier; one great-great-grandchild, Gabriel Turner; five stepgrandchildren, Melissa Beck, Sarah Clark, Ed Underwood, Marie Todd and Rebecca Kunkle; two brothers, John Reavis of Greensboro and Walter Reavis of Winston-Salem; and four sisters, Rose Harvelle of Troy, Sadie Testerman of Kernersville and Ada Mae Rayle and Thelma Hendren, both of Greensboro.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home.
