B. Edward Roop, 76, and employee of the Radford State Teachers college for more than 25 years died in a Charlottesville hospital last night following an illness of 14-months. Mr. Roop began work at the college as an employee of the contractors who erected the first building. He staked off the present administration building and made much of the furniture used in the buildings as well as having charge of the upkeep of the grounds. Surviving are his widow and a daughter, Mrs. Jack Kavitz of Radford, VA. Funeral services will be held at the Tyler Memorial Presbyterian church, in Radford at 2 p.m. Tuesday with interment in Sunrise cemetery. The Rev. C.K. Ale, pastor of the church; Dr. M. Ledge Moffett, dean of Radford State Teachers college, and the Rev G.A. Daniels, former Radford pastor, will officiate at the services.
