Sidlow Ingels Kellas, 43, died suddenly in his home at 241 So. Third avenue Tuesday night, Feb. 16, 1949. Kellas had been a resident of Oakdale since infancy, coming here at the age of one with his parents, the late John Kellas and Mrs. E. E. Kellas, from Larned, Kans. A student of local schools, the deceased had worked for the cannery here during practically all of his adult life. He did work for the P. E. Van Pelt Industries a short time, however. Kellas was known by practically all of the residents of this city and was an active member of the Oakdale Sportsmen's Club. Death was caused by a heart attack. Kellas returned home from work Tuesday saying his arm hurt a little. In the middle of the night his wife called a doctor, but death struck in a very short time. The deceased was the husband of Mrs. Alma Kellas and father of Darryl and Ingels Kellas. His mother, Mrs. E. E. Kellas, owns and operates a service station on F street. Duwaine Kellas, owner of the Oakdale Flower Basket, is his brother and Mrs. R. S. McAllister of Burlingame is a sister. An aunt, Miss Effie Marymee resides in Oakdale and an aunt, Miss Bertha Marymee and uncle, Adam Marymee reside in Larned. Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 from Fager Chapel with Rev. Merle Clark officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery.
