A homemaker and a resident of Slaughter, she died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. She was 78, born July 15, 1930, in Tupelo, Miss., to Graham Benjamin and Estelle Luther Waldrep.
Survived by a son, Gary Corban, of Zachary; two daughters, Barbara Burns, of Slaughter, and Deborah Ziaie, of Zachary; son, Johnny Corban, of Slaughter; four sisters, Lanel I. Thompson, of Sikeston, Mo., Martha Blankenship, of Stafford, Texas, Linda Walls, of Auburn, Ala., and Theresa Preus, of Covington; nine grandchildren, Gary Corban Jr., Jeremy Keith Corban, Heath Fitzhugh, Jonathan Brothers, Sheena Ziaie, Danielle Ziaie, Katelyn Corban, Dalton Corban and Autumn Corban; and three great-grandchildren, Case Corban, Jaiden Corban and Jude Corban.
Preceded in death by her husband, Grover Alton Corban; parents, Graham Benjamin and Estelle Luther Waldrep; two brothers, George and Bobby Waldrep; and two sisters, Edna Bell Melanson and Patricia Roberts.
Visiting at Brown Funeral Home, Gloster, Miss., on Sunday, May 10, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home chapel on Monday, May 11, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment in Roseland Cemetery in Gloster.
