Mrs. Sarah Betzner, aged and highly respected citizen of Bunker Hill died at her home about 10 o'clock Monday night. Mrs. Betzner had been confined to her bed for a week, the result of a fall while she was going about in the house. Her hip was broken and complications setting in caused her death, at the time of which she was 85 years, 6 months and nine days of age, and had lived in Miami County the past fifty years.

Sarah Gottschalk, daughter of Jacob and Christina Gottschalk, was born January 17, 1841, in Van Wert County Ohio. She came to Indiana with her parents in 1856 and was married to Jacob G. Betzner in 1859, in Miami County. There were eight children born to this union, four of whom are living: Mrs. Mary Kurtz of Greentown, John and Charles of Chicago and Harmon F. Betzner of Bunker Hill. there are also a brother Mathias Gottschalk of Bunker Hill, a half sister, Amanda Gottschalk and brother Andrew Gottschalk of Berne Indiana. There are six grandchildren and six great grandchildren all living.

The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday morning at ten o'clock conducted by Rev. Heldt of Logansport and assisted by Rev. Maurer of Zion, burial in Springdale cemetery.
