Leamond V. “Lee” Alford, born 2-28-31 in Thorn MS, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 1999 at the age of 68.
He was a member of Thorn United Methodist Church and retired from ILA Local #1351. Lee loved to hunt and was an avid sports fan. He graduated from the University Mississippi on a baseball scholarship and played 2 years of pro ball with the Southern States League Meridian Millers.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jackie Thomas Alford; son, Ronnie Alford and wife of LaPorte; two step-sons, Jerry Rucker and wife of Willis and Tommy Edwards and wife of Pasadena; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews from Mississippi.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00–9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 1999 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 1999 in the Main Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home....Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
