Mr. James I. Darst
Dies Unexpectedly
Of Heart Attack


Mr. James I. Darst, 67, Stanford, died Thursday night at the Morehead Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

A native of Illinois, he was a member of the Stanford Optimist Club and oil contractor, a veteran of World War I and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Darst; two daughters, Mrs. James R. Douglass, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Charles E. Morris, Lexington; three sons, Major George Darst, Fort Sill, Okla., James Darst, Northridge, Calif. and Edwin Darst, Stanford; a sister, Mrs. J. Orr Pierpone, St. Louis, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Morgan and Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Harry Wulfcamp. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dr. James Blackerby, Gene Jacobs, Marvin Cornett, George Grider, Ed Ensslin and Ernest Baxter.

Arrangements were handled by Morgan and Fox Funeral Home.
