WWII US Army PFC Hulett Allen THOMPSON was killed in Burma [Update: August 1, 2019. Mission in Action/Died Myitkinya, Kachin State, Myanmar; Buried Fort William McKinley Cemetery, Fort Bonifacio, Manila, Capital District, National Capital Region, Phillippines] in the line of duty and was buried overseas. He was survived by his wife, one child, his parents, numerous siblings in addition to nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced U.S. Army Private First Class Hulett A. Thompson, killed during World War II, was accounted for on May 29, 2019.

In June 1944, Thompson served as an infantryman assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5307th Combat Unit (Provisional) also referred to as Task Force Galahad, or Merrill's Marauders, in the China-Burma-India region. On June 30, 1944, PFC Thompson's unit fought in the siege of Myitkyina, Burma. He was reportedly killed in action and his remains could not be recovered.

Memorialized in the Wall [Tablets] of the Missing, Taguig City, Manila, Capital District, National Campaign Region, Phillippines, see Commonwealth War Graves Commission, American Battle Monuments Commission (Service Record: 34760391 THOMPSON, Hulett A. ) Awarded Bronze Star and Purple Heart, World War II.

Cemetery is located in Fort Bonifacio, in Taguig City, Manila. It is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed December 25 and January 1). It contains the graves of 17,202 fallen soldiers and sailors plus 36,285 on the Tablets of the Missing.
