Nancy Cork was born in Ross county, Ohio, Feb. 22, 1845, and died at her home one mile north of Livingston, March 7, 1902. With her parents she came to Clark Co. in 1855, since which time she has resided near the place where she died. In May 1868 she was united in marriage to William H. Keys. Of this union there were born six children, three sons and three daughters, all of whom, with the sorrowing husband survive to mourn her loss. All the children except the oldest son Martin, who lives in Texas, were present at the funeral, which occurred Monday at the Livingston M.E. church, and was preached by Rev. A.A. White of this city.
Mrs Keys was apparently in her usual health, and about nine o'clock went up stairs to retire for the night. She was accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. James McIlrath of this city, who observed shortly after they reached the sleeping room that her mother seemed to be suffering. She was assisted down stairs, where she expired in a few moments.
Mrs. Keys was a woman of exemplary character, and will be greatly missed by her family and neighbors. She was faithful and devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Livingston.
