SWOOPE -- Harry Blair Cook, 86, a retired farmer, formerly of Rt. 1, Swoope, died Tuesday (Nov. 7, 1978) in Oak Hill Nursing Home. Until a recent illness, he had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Alex M. Jones of Rt. 2, Staunton.
He was born near Swoope July 31, 1893, son of William L. and Sarah (Wilson) Cook and had lived all of his life in Augusta County. He was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include daughter, Miss Christine Cook of Charlottesville; three sons, Harry W. of Newport News and Herman E. and Lester S. Cook, both of Staunton; four brothers, Samuel of Staunton and Marshall, Warren and Robert Cook, all of Swoope; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. His wife, Anna (Schaeffer) Cook, died June 20, 1967.
Burial will be in Thornrose Cemetery.
