Graveside service for David Harold Knight, 71, of Decatur will be Monday, August 10, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. at Cookeville City Cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Monday, August 10, from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Knight, who died, Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, was born April 29, 1938, in Putnam County, Tenn. to Thurman and Louise Knight. Mr. Knight was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and was an avid, amature Ham radio operator. He was a life time member of the ARRL, Old Timers Club and the NRA. Mr. Knight was a 34 year employee of TVA and served four years in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lloyd and Floyd Knight; and one sister, Lou Ellen Knight.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Knight; one son, Jason Harold Knight of Decatur; one daughter and son-in-law, Chrissa Knight Hall and husband, Tim, of Hartselle; two sisters, Lowell Gentry of Madison, Tenn. and Pearl Barbee of Old Hickory, Tenn; one brother-in-law, Don Hembree and wife, Ann, of Cookeville, Tenn.
