Harry Farrell - husband of Betty. Mr. Farrell was a career journalist and author. He retired from the San Jose Mercury News with a career that spanned more than 50 years. After retiring from the Mercury News in 1986, he authored two books about famous California criminal cases, "Swift Justice: Murder and Vengeance in a California Town", which earned him the Edgar Allan Poe Award in 1992, and "Shallow Grave in Trinity County". Mr. Farell also wrote "San Jose and Other Famous Places", a history of the city. Mr. Farrell attended San Jose State University, and served in the Army during World War II.
