Ruth Martine Abbiehl, 93, a retired registered nurse, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005. The service will be at 4 p.m. EDT Friday at Sopchoppy United Methodist Church, 131 Rose Street in Sopchoppy, with burial at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends after the service at the church. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191) is handling arrangements.


Memorial contributions may be made to Sopchoppy United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 85, Sopchoppy, FL 32358. A resident of Tallahassee, she was a member of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church.


She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rebekah's and United Methodist Women. She volunteered at Lake Panasoffkee Community Library and Lake Panasoffkee Recreation Club.


She is survived by a daughter, Shirley R. Yates of Sopchoppy, and two granddaughters, Rachel M. Yates and Angela S. Yates.


She was preceded in death by her husbands, William C. Burris and Oscar Abbiehl, and her brothers, Chester, Harold, James and Walter Reynolds.
