Master Roy W. Dunwoody, near here, was much surprised on his birthday lat Friday, by receiving one hundred and thirty-three fine past cards, from his friends and relatives, they coming from Philadelphia, Reading, Pottstown, Williamport, Norristown, Downingtown, Barneston, Elverson, Wyebrooke, Loag, font and Joanna and other places. Whle Roy was not permitted to attend school until he was ten years of age, on account of his physical condition, he has bade such progress that he now stands in the class with those of his age.

DUNWOODY - GROFF

Following the good example set by her younger sister, Anna Mary, one week previous, Rachel Elizabeth Groff was united in marriage to Leroy W. Dunwoody, of Loag's Corner, at the Manse of the Brandywine Manor Presbyterian Church, by the pastor, the Rev. H. H. Kurtz, at 8 o'clock, on Wednesday evening. The bride was attired in blue satin, with hat to match. The ring ceremony was used, and the immediate relatives were present.

The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Brinton Groff, and was for some time an operator in a local telephone exchange. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Dunwoody, and is engaged as a painter and paper hanger.

ROY DUNWOODY DIES

Roy W. Dunwoody, aged 45 years, died on Friday evening at his home on James Street after a lingering illness.

He was born and reared in West Nantmeal township and had lived in Honey Brook for several years, recently being employed by the State Highway Department. he was a life-long member of the Good Will Methodist Church, near Loag's Corner.

Besides his widow, who before marriage, was Miss Elizabeth Groff, of Honey Brook, he is survived by his father and mother, John H. and Annie Ames Dunwoody, of West Nantmeal; and two brothers, Elmer Dunwoody, of Coatesville; and Harold Dunwoody, of Wyebrooke.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon in the Honey Brook Methodist Church and were largely attended. Rev. J. Laurence Carr, the local pastor, read the Scriptures which was followed by prayer by Rev. Francis J. S. Morrow, pastor of the Good Will Methodist Church. The church choir, lead by Dr. J.H.V. Reese, and with Mrs. Paul Jones at the organ, sang Mr. Duwoodys favorite hymn, "God Will Take Care of You".

Rev. Leroy Bernard, former Good Will pastor and now at William Penn, Pa.,gave an impressive address, recalling his long association with Mr. Dunwoody at Loag's Corner. Rev. Harry H. Kurtz, Pastor of the Brandywine Manor Presbyterian Church, delivered the sermon. The service came to a close with prayer by Rev. Mr. Carr and the choir singing "Abide with Me".

Interment was made at Brandywine Manor and the pall bearers were John Kennedy, Percy Glauner, Roy Welsh, Clarence Kachel, Harry Spotts and Edward H. Essex. Services were conducted at the grave by the Knights of Malta, of Morgantown, of which Mr. Dunwoody was a member.
