Winifred had suffered with tuberculosis as a young woman which led to her spending years in a sanitarium out west for the "cure." . She was married earlier to handsome Henry Sessions. They never had children and later divorced.
She died in the Northern Virginia Doctor's Hospital in Arlington, Virginia. The cause of death was given as: "chronic pulmonary disease, with arteriosclerotic heart disease" as a contributing factor. Although she had been cured of tuberculosis of the lungs in her youth it caused lasting damage that eventually led to her death.
Ives-Pearson Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements. The Metropolitan Crematory in Alexandria, Virginia did the cremation. The informant on her Death Certificate was her sister, Marian Schultheis. Winifred's ashes probably were given to Marian but exactly what was done with them is unknown.
