PRIEUR, JOSEPH R. Of Flint, formerly of Flushing, age 71, died Sunday, September 4, 1988 at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral Mass will be held 10AM Wednesday, September 7, 1988 at St. Robert Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Jerry Ploof officiating. Burial in New Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 9 PM Monday and Tuesday. Scripture Service will be held 6 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by the K of C Services at 6:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Prieur was born in Alpena, Michigan, September 19, 1916, the son of Oliver and Eva Prieur. He married Ruth Palmeter in Flint, January 29, 1944. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S.Army. He was employed for Chevrolet manufacturing for 42 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of Local #659 UAW, St. Robert Catholic Church of Flushing and Knights of Columbus Council #695 of Flint. Surviving are: wife, Ruth; two daughters, Jane and husband Donald Miller of Swartz Creek, Susan and husband Gerald Bear of Flushing; 2 grandchildren, Donald and Janelle Miller, 5 brothers, Elmer of Chesaning, Andrew and wife Doris of Hubbard Lake, Leonard and wife Mary of Lennon, Charles and wife Mable of Fenton, James of New Lothrop; 2 sisters, Margaret and husband Norman Garant of New Lothrop, Marie and Rocky Rothwell of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews.
