Deceased Name: John K. Gaume 1919-2005 HAMILTON, Mo. -- John "Jack" Kerns Gaume, 85, Hamilton, passed away Sept. 5, 2005, at a Cameron, Mo., health-care center. Born Nov. 26, 1919, in Seneca, Kan., to Frank and Mary Gaume, he lived and worked in Hamilton. Jack was a member of the Sacred Heart parish, Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus. Jack served in World War II from 1941 to 1945 with the 3rd Army, 9th Armor Division, 482nd AAA (half-track) Co. He was at the Bridge of Remagen in Europe when it fell. He married Constance Nadine Tritt on July 2, 1942, in Hartford, Conn. They were married 63 years. She died Feb. 17, 2005. He also was preceded by his parents; and brothers, Lester and Edward Gaume. Survivors include his son, Francis E. Gaume, and spouse, Diane; daughter, Jackie S. Bartl, and spouse, Lee; seven grandchildren; great-grandson, Mr. Wyatt; brother, Robert Gaume; sisters, Eileen Weimar and Evelyn Stutz; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hamilton. Interment: Highland Cemetery, Hamilton. Visitation: begins after 9 a.m. Friday, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and a rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Visitation: 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the church. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
