He was the brother of Walter Campbell Ellis, Helen Gertrude Ellis-McHugh-Morgan, Mary Jane Ellis-McCall, and George D Ellis. Charles served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II then continued in the family butcher business at Ellis Meats.
