Anna Mae Kirk Monger, 74 , of Rising Sun, MD, passed away suddenly July 28, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center after a brief illness.
Anna Mae was born in Elkton, MD on December 28, 1934, the daughter of the late Curtis and Faye Patrick Kirk. Anna Mae graduated from North East High School and attended Goldey Beacom College. She worked as a management analyst in human resources at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 37 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rising Sun Little League and American Legion Rising Sun Post 194. She volunteered for Northern Chesapeake Hospice and also at the Union Hospital Gift Shop. An avid bridge player, Anna Mae was a regular at the Wednesday Night Bridge Group at the Legion and also loved to read and was an excellent cook. She will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years years, James O. Monger at home, a son Michael K. Monger and his companion Christina Loy of Rising Sun; a daughter Patti Foard and her husband Bob of North East, MD; three brothers, William C. Kirk of Destin, FL, James (Benny) Kirk of Perryville, MD and Norman T. Kirk of Fair Hope, AL; a sister Alice Louise Kirk of Philadelphia; and 4grandchildren,. Ian and Lindsey Monger and Whitney and Madison Foard.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday August 3, 2009 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Sunday evening August 2 from 7 - 9 pm at the funeral home or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Brookview Cemetery.
