Robert Lee Bowling departed quietly in his home surrounded by his children and family while on hospice. He was born September 5, 1941 on Brimstone Mountain in Robbins, Tennessee. He is the son of the late Columbia (Lowe) Bowling Overton and William Thomas Bowling. He is also preceded in death by 4 sisters Annie (Bowling) Tacket, Frankie June (Overton) Hamby, Alice Faye Overton Smithers, Connie Tacket Johnson, 9 brothers, Grady Bowling, Harvey Bowling, Arvel Bowling, Arlie Bowling, Carlie Bowling, Kermit Bowling, Orville Bowling, Earl Overton, Bearl Overton, Charles Tacket, Leonard Tacket. As well as two wives, Rosemary Kay (Minard) Bowling, and Vera Sue (Smithers) Human Bowling.

Bob was a member of Lone Mountain Baptist Church and he served his country as an Army Vietnam War Veteran from 1960 - 1974. He loved bowling, driving a school bus and working for the Scott County School system. He also loved being around his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his two sisters Betty Spense, Lorraine Thomas and sister-in-law Inga Bowling. His children include Deborah Bowling Madison and David of Dayton, Ohio; Thomas Bowling and Kathy of Sunbright, Tennessee; Dianna Bowling Massey of Oneida, Tennessee; Andrew Bowling of Oregon; Lisa Bardsley and Jim of Cherry Fork, Tennessee; Donna Bowling Fairbank and Peter of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Tina Human Day and Tony Aleshire of Brimstone, Tennessee; Dwight Human and Sharrie Terry of Robbins, Tennessee; Dwayne Human of Robbins, Tennessee; and Bobby Joe Bowling and Tiffany of Fairview, Tennessee. He is also survived by grandchildren Kristen Smith, Orin Smith, Darak Paul, Jessica Young, Steven Chastain, Nikole Cox, Jonathan Crowell, Joe Massey, Justin Byrge, Dustin Byrge, Daphne Stringer, Michael King, Kayla King, Matthew Martin, Andrew Martin, Chase Human, Jace Bowling and Liliana Bowling.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, November the 28, 2023 from 5pm until time of funeral services to begin at 7pm in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville, Tennessee, 2889 Baker Hwy, Huntsville, Tennessee 37756 with Brother Kyle Keeton officiating. Music will be provided by Elora Beth Lowe. Graveside services will be on Wednesday morning, November 29,2023, at 9:30 at the Baptist Memorial Cemetery in Robbins, Tennessee, with full military honors provided by the American Legion, Post #136. Pallbearers will be: Thomas Bowling, Bobby Bowling, Dwight Human, Dustin Byrge, Steven Chastain, and Chase Human.
