Mrs. Rollins, 73, of Aiken, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Harvey Stoneking and Golda Gay Williams Stoneking, she was born in Charleston, WV and had lived in Glenville, WV before moving to Aiken in 1951. Before retiring in 1991, she had worked for over twenty years as a lab tech for Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site, but it was being a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother that defined her. She held the distinction of being the first female, school bus driver, starting in 1953 and she attended the New Ellenton Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a baby brother, a sister; Lorgetha Keesecker and her daughter, Cheryl Merriett. Mrs. Rollins is survived by a son; Dewitt (Andrea) Rollins, Aiken and two daughters; Kay Kirkbride, Aiken and Brenda Gay (Eddie) Williams, Murrells Inlet, SC. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great, grandchildren.
