Bertha james, 75, Benham, died Thursday at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital after a long illness.
She was survived by 11 children, Cecil Howard, Naomi Winstead and Ernest James, all of Cumberland; Octavia Scopa, Lynch; Dorthy Boggs, Crossville, Tenn; Francis Buchanan, Sandusky, Oh; Monnie Rice, Wayne, Mich; David James, Chicago, Ill; Jerry James, Indianapolis, Ind; Carolyn Hilton, Benham; and Pat MacLachlan, Glen Arbor, Mich.
Also surviving were two brothers, Jesse Sanders and Arnold Sanders, Sullivan, Ohio; one sister, Lorena Sanders, Sullivan, Oh; 39 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren.
Mrs. James was a member of Gilliam Chapel and was a native of Knox County.
Services will be held Sat. at 2pm in the Tri-City Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ernest Brock officiating.
Burial will be at the Huff Cemetery and pallbearers will be James F. Goodwin, Bobby Winstead, Jimmy Cooper, Billy Boggs and Kim James.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 10 pm tonight and after 9 am Sat.
