Mildred Griffin Abney, 84, of Brenham passed away Monday, July 22, 2009 at Trinity Care Center.

Mildred was born Jan. 2, 1925 in Andalusia, Ala. to parents Dennis and Lilly Thomas Bass. Mildred had owned Park Avenue Florist in Hereford, Texas for many years.

She is predeceased by her parents, her first husband William H. Griffin on March 4, 1980 and second husband Glenn M. Abney Jr. on Aug. 12, 2004.

Family survivors are brother, Kenneth Bass of Pensacola, Fla.; sister, Juanita Bass Maund of Lake Park, Ga.; a stepson, Jimmy Griffin of Glendale, Ariz. and a dear friend and caregiver, Rosalina Alicia Suarez and her daughter Daisy.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 9 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2009 in Masonic Cemetery of Chappell Hill.

Friends and family will gather for a special time of remembering Mildred at 10 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2009 in the Conference Room at Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village of Brenham.

Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer St., Brenham, Texas.
